I will discuss some aspects regarding the searches for dark matter at colliders. I will first focus on WIMP dark matter candidates. I will show, in the context of some simplified models, how information from searches at LHC as well as possible future linear colliders can complement the information from Direct and Indirect Dark Matter detection experiments.

I will then discuss an example on a non-WIMP dark matter candidate, namely a scenario of decaying dark matter, showing how the expected signals and, consequently, detection prospects, change with respect to the previous case.
