FONTAINE Jean-Philippe

I was born in Brive la Gaillarde, France in 1990. In 2008, I moved to Lyon to a preparatoy school to acquire a solid scientific background. I, then entered an engineering school called CPE in Electronics, Computer Science and Physics.

I studied 2 years there, and moved to a master in Physics in the "Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1", where I got my master degree.

In my master thesis, I worked on a particular theoretical model of dark matter based on scalar candidates of dark matter in LAPTH, Annecy-le-Vieux.

My research interest is focused mainly in dark matter physics, and specially both direct and indirect detection. For this specific reason, I chose to work for the experiment DarkSide, in LNGS (using a liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber to detect WIMPs, a particular type of Cold Dark Matter).

Nevertheless, I really like other sectors of physics like semiconductor physics(I have a good experience in it due to electronics), general relativity and cosmology.

Also I like a lot other topics like philosophy (especially epistemology), or Eastern wisdoms.
