PÀEZ Antonio

Antonio Páez is professor in the School of Geography and Earth Sciences at McMaster University. His professional training is in Civil Engineering (I.T.E.S.M., Mexico), with graduate degrees in Information Sciences and Regional Planning and Applications from Tohoku University in Japan. His research interests intersect the fields of transportation, spatial analysis, and behavior. His academic output includes over 100 peer-reviewed publications, two edited books, and over 100 presentations in scientific and academic meetings. His work has been published in more than 30 different journals, including leading analytical geography, urban studies, planning, and transportation journals such as Journal of Transport Geography, Environment and Planning A, Urban Studies, Journal of Geographical Systems, and Transportation Research A: Policy and Practice. In addition, he has offered over 60 invited seminars, presentations and short courses in Canada, the US, the UK, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Australia, The Netherlands, Italy, and Austria. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Geographical Systems, as Associate Editor of Papers in Regional Science, and sits on the Editorial Boards of Environment and Planning A, Computers, Environment, and Urban Systems, and Transportation. His research has been funded by all three major research councils in Canada, namely the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research.
