Gran Sasso Science Institute birthday

On April 9th, 2012 the Italian Parliament approved the National Law that establishes Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) as a new research and higher education institution. The Institute will be activated in the city of L’Aquila by the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). GSSI is established with the mission of reinforcing the Italian higher education system creating an international center of scientific excellence, facilitating the attraction of high-level resources in the fields of physics, mathematics, computer science and social sciences.
