From GSSI to OECD, researching on human migrations

Migrations and refugees hospitality are current topics across Europe. Paola Proietti, 2nd year PhD candidate at GSSI Social Sciences, has just finished a six-month period of research about these crucial issues at the OECD.

Under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Veneri, our student has been working on the integration of migrants in cities and regions. In particular, she carried out a work on the measurement of asylum seekers in reception centres across European regions and contributed to a number of case studies on the role of local authorities for migrant integration.

Established in 1961, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental economic organisation with 35 member countries which cooperate to stimulate economic progress and world trade. Mission of the OECD  is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. OECD is an official United Nations Observer.
